It was a surpise proposition from my boss who initially floated the idea of me taking up new challenge although on a shorter term ie., 6 months to get the new project implementation done which is also quite a high profile one. It was down to no takers finally and it was difficult to reject since the only way to get better performance appraisal really hinges on the willingness to take up additional tasks. It looks promising since I have managed to cut down one of my staff workload to more than half by renegotiating with the customers a more simpler approach to manage her existing job. That means I can delegate some of my works and concentrate more on my new assignment which was actually meant to be full time job. I decided that I still need to keep a close eye on my work areas which I wouldn’t want to be in disarray once I’m back to my real core business. Almost done with the planning bits so it is now time to really deliver the planning. If I’m real focus I should be able to get over it in a much faster time but lets just concentrate on delivering the promises based on the project timeline that I have put up for now. This will be the big thing for me this year if I really do deliver considering this is not even my line of business or cup of tea so to speak.
